Woman Sues Restaurant Over Toilet Seat

A woman from New Jersey is suing a restaurant in the Bethlehem area over a broken toilet seat, which caused her to fall into the ceramic bowl leaving her stuck in the toilet for around twenty minutes according to a recent report.
Kathleen Hewko said that she went to the toilet, which was a disabled one, but the toilet seat cracked in half when she sat on it, sending her plunging into the bowl. The incident occurred in November 2006 when Hewko was dining with her husband and son at the Starters Pub Sports Bar & Grille.
Her lawyer said that she had to eventually be rescued from the toilet where she was stuck. He added: “You don’t expect those kind of things when you go to the john.” The lawsuit was filed recently at U.S District Court, in Allentown.
Hewko claims that she suffered a number of physical injuries as well as having to deal with humiliation and embarrassment. The complaint states that she injured her thigh, lower back, and hip as a result of the accident. Management are accused of already knowing about the problem with the toilet because it had also broken a week earlier.
