Woman Receives One Million Dollars Over Dog Attack

A woman has received compensation of around one million dollars after she was attacked by a dog. The attack on the woman left her with serious facial injuries. The woman was out walking her own dog and on her way to pick up her kids when the attack took place.
Wendy Rydberg from Santa Rosa is said to have been attacked by a ninety pound American Bulldog has she went to collect her kids with her own dog. The attack by the bulldog left her with a number of facial injuries, and she spent four days in hospital where she had to go through three surgeries.
Rydberg is to receive around nine hundred thousand dollars as part of the settlement, and her husband and her two children will each receive around thirty three thousand dollars. Sonoma County officials have also adopted tougher animal control measures following this and similar incidents.
In the meantime, the owner of the dog was sentenced to four months in jail and charged with misdemeanors, and the bulldog was destroyed by animal control officials.
