Taser International Dismissed From Lawsuit Again

The maker of the stun gun, Taser International, has once again been dropped from a lawsuit that was filed over a death. The manufacturer has been at the centre of a large number of lawsuits that have been filed over deaths, but in the majority of cases it has been dismissed from the cases, with this being no exception.
The company found that its motion to be dismissed from the Georgia lawsuit was granted by the courts in relation to the Ruby Mann, et. al. v. Taser International, et. al lawsuit. The court ruled that the plaintiffs could not prove that a device from Taser resulted in a death, hence the dismissal.

Taser has always said that it will defend itself in court against such cases, and Doug Klint, vice president and general counsel of Taser, said that he was very happy with the court’s decision to dismiss the case in light of lack of evidence of responsibility.

He said: “We are very pleased that the Court granted both the law enforcement defendants’ and Taser International’s motions for summary judgment and dismissed this lawsuit, especially considering that the court was required to review all facts and inferences in the light most favorable to the plaintiffs.”
