Parents Of Skydiver File Lawsuit Against Aircraft Manufacturer

The parents of a thirty four year old computer engineer that was killed in a skydiving accident have filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer of the aircraft. According to reports there was evidence to show that the aircraft encountered airframe icing in IMC but it was not being flown on an IFR flight plan.

The parents of the skydiver, Bryan Jones, have stated that the aircraft was defective, and should not have been airborne in those icy conditions. Jones, an accomplished skydiver, was one of nine Snohomish County jump club skydivers. The aircraft, however, flew into a mountainside and killed all nine plus the pilot.

A friend of Jones’ stated that his friend was a good skydiver. He stated: “He knew what he was doing and he did it well.” Another friend, an instructor, stated: “He was pretty dedicated. He would sit in traffic for hours just to make one jump at sunset.”

The lawsuit was filed by the man’s parents on Friday, and is seeking damages for the pain and suffering that Jones must have experienced, and loss of companionship as a result of their son’s death.
