According to a recent report two lawsuits and a number of liens totalling more than one million dollars have been filed against a hotel and conference centre that was built in February. The action has been taken against the Parke Hotel and Conference Centre in Bloomington.
Many mechanics liens and two lawsuits have been filed against the Parke, and against Larry Bielfeldt, who serves as developer and a managing partner of the project. The two lawsuits have accused the Parke of breach of contract, with B & B Food Distributors Inc. seeking $109,000 and World Drywall & Painting seeking $27,800.
The mechanics liens that have been filed against Parke are for materials and labor that was provided to the hotel. Reports claim that whilst some contractors and suppliers received partial payment from the Parke others have received no money at all.
A court hearing in relation to one of the lawsuits has now been scheduled for March of next year according to the report. However, no date has yet been set to hear the other lawsuit that was filed. No hearings will be required for the liens.
