Last week it was reported that the world famous daredevil Evel Knievel had settled a lawsuit with rap star Kanye West over an image of the daredevil that was used in one of the rapper’s 2006 videos, which Knievel objected to and described as vulgar.
After visiting the daredevil at his Florida condo the two reached a settlement. Knievel described West as a gentleman and also expressed concern over the recent death of the rap star’s mother. However, just a week after the report the daredevil himself succumbed to a terminal illness and passed away.
Evel Knievel, real name Robert Craig, died late last week at the age of sixty nine after a long battle with a terminal lung disease. Knievel had always wanted to be an inspiration, and to many fans and loved ones will be. He had previously stated: “The fame of great men ought to be judged always by the means they used to acquire it.”
One senator stated: “I’m saddened to hear of the passing Evel Knievel. For more than 40 years, he has been a perfect example of Americans’ willingness to push themselves towards greater and greater accomplishments. He made Montana proud as Butte’s native son. Even as he broke records and dazzled audiences across the globe, he always considered himself, as ‘just a guy from Butte.'”
