Couple Settles Lawsuits With Spinach Companies

A couple whose two children suffered serious illness after contracting E. Coli has settled a lawsuit with four spinach companies after filing the federal lawsuit in 2006. The couple, from Wisconsin had asked for in excess of seventy five thousand dollars in the original lawsuit, but details of the settlement amount have not been disclosed.
According to a lawyer working on behalf of the plaintiffs, Neil and Anne Grintjes of Milwaukee are very relieved that the matter has been dealt with and is now over. He stated: “They’re happy to put it behind them, and the companies are happy to put it behind them as well. The Grintjes are pleased at the result.”
Although the settlement has been reached by all parties involved, there is still the matter of getting it approved by a federal judge, but the attorney stated that there should be no problem with getting the approval. He also stated that his firm was dealing with over eighty other cases relating to the incident.
