Center For Constitutional Rights Files Lawsuit Against Blackwater

The Center for Constitutional Rights has filed a lawsuit against the North Carolina company Blackwater, stating that employees were involved in the deaths of seventeen Iraqi civilians in September, according to a recent report.

According to the federal lawsuit that has been filed against Blackwater by the Center for Constitutional Rights: “One of Blackwater’s own shooters tried to stop his colleagues from indiscriminately firing upon the crowd of innocent civilians but he was unsuccessful in his efforts.”

The lawsuit alleges that the bodyguards from Blackwater participated in the killing of the seventeen Iraqi civilians through ignoring direct orders and abandoning their posts after taking steroids. However, an official from Blackwater stated that no employee is allowed to use steroids, although no comment has been made about the other claims,

The Center for Constitutional Rights has filed its federal lawsuit against Blackwater on behalf of two Iraqis that were injured in the incident, and another five that that were killed. The State Department had offered limited immunity to Blackwater guards, but the Justice Department is now investigating with regards to whether criminal charges should be filed.
