The chief executive of technological giant Apple could end up being hauled into the courts in California after he was accused of making misleading claims as part of the launch of one of its latest hi-tech products, according to a recent report.
A lawsuit has been filed against Steve Jobs, stating that he is indulging in false marketing and advertising with his claims that the new iMac desktop computer can ‘display millions of colors’ on the screen. According to the lawsuit: “Apple intentionally concealed and/or suppressed the above facts with the intent to defraud”.
The plaintiff in the lawsuit is a woman from Texas who bought one of the computers, and according to reports her lawyers should have no trouble finding many other Apple customers in order to turn the lawsuit into a class action suit.
When the computer was launched in August, Mr Jobs stated: “Our customers have told us that they love the new glossy displays. For photos, for movies they look way better on these glossy, beautiful, crisp displays.”
