Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed Against UCF

According to recent reports a wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against UCF following the death of a football player who is said to have died following a workout. The family of the man have filed the lawsuit after he died during practice.Ereck Plancher was nineteen years of age and came from Naples. His family are claiming wrongful death in the lawsuit, and are seeking damages of more than fifteen thousand dollars, according to reports. He died a year ago after a workout at the University of Central Florida campus.

However, despite the wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of Plancher the university insists that it did nothing wrong. The lawsuit, however, claims: “During the course of the ‘mat drills,’ (Plancher) experienced exhaustion, dizziness, shortness of breath, loss of balance resulting in a collapse, inability to verbally respond to questions, and other signs of extreme fatigue that were ignored by trainers and/or coaches.”

A university spokesperson said: “Per university policy, UCF will not discuss specifics about the lawsuit. The health of our student-athletes is our top priority. UCF has made that clear by conducting a comprehensive and independent review of the football program’s training policies and procedures. The results of that review are expected soon.”
